Randonnée libre au Gour de Tazenat

Crater lake born from a volcanic explosion thousands of years ago, the Gour de Tazenat surprises with its almost perfect circle and its waters stretching over 500 metres across. On this autumn day, walkers set off at their own pace to circle this natural amphitheatre, between basalt cliffs and forest paths.

The route reveals itself gradually: views over the dark water from the heights, passages under beech and oak cover, clearings where the light of October slips through. The path remains accessible without technical difficulty, suitable for families and occasional walkers.

Free and unsupervised, this outing invites you to bring good shoes, water and a picnic to enjoy on the banks. Parking exists near the site, at the entrance to Charbonnières-les-Vieilles.
